Activities Conceived and developed by Milton and Joseph Kutsher and legendary
basketball coach Clair F. Bee in 1968, the Sports Academy offers
a unique program in athletics. Boys and girls design their own
individual camp program, with assistance and guidance from our
coaching and counseling staff, according to their needs and desires.
A camper may concentrate on improving in their favorite sport or
activity, and may also satisfy a curiosity about an activity he
or she has never tried before. All of our programs are set up with
various levels of ability in mind, and campers are grouped in each
activity according to ability. This allows campers to try new activities
without feeling overwhelmed, and also enables those at a higher
level to obtain the type of instruction needed to advance in their
sport. There are also "play periods" offered in each
sport, for those who wish to experience a sport on a recreational
level and want less instruction.
The
KSA program covers practically every individual and team activity
on the high school and college sports scene.
All of our programs are coed, and all of our activities are popular
with both male and female campers. All campers also participate in
intramural league play in the sport of their choice. Age, degree
of ability and experience determine the level of league competition
for all campers. KSA is also very active in intercamp sports competition
with local camps in a variety of sports.
